Courtney & Andy's Wedding: San Luis Galveston

Courtney and Andy were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at sunset on the lawn of Galveston's San Luis Resort.  Bright green and purple florals filled the scene!  Courtney looked absolutely incredible coming down the aisle.  Once the Mr. & Mrs. were official, guests headed into the ballroom for a night of dancing and fun.  Funky Monkey Photobooth was on hand to provide guest favors, and Eventology Weddings was there to assure that the event ran smoothly.  Toward the end of the night, the groom and groomsmen headed up to the stage to play for the audience... which they evidently do regularly around Houston as the Knights of Larkin.  We LOVED them : )  Check out the groom's cake-- it's a DRUM.  One of the kids standing by during the cake cutting picked up the drumsticks to play on it-- it looked SO real.  Notice how the wedding cake mocks the patterns and embellishment on Courtney's gown.

Fallon & JB's Wedding

Congratulations to Fallon & JB!!! Their wedding took place in the Chapel at the Fellowship of the Woodlands, and the reception at the Woodlands Resort and Conference Center.

It was like stepping into a scene from Steel Magnolias listening to this absolutely charming family (from Louisiana) talk all day and night! I really felt like family among them... instantly right at home, very comfortable. I'm so blessed to be able to work with such wonderful people. If only they had a family wedding every weekend, and I could see them over and over again...

The florals were a dazzling mix of purples, maroons, and greens... the bridesmaids were gowned in lilac and lime... the cake adorned with a big purple bow... and the reception venue had mauve up-lighting along the perimeter to give a posh and intimate feel to the party.

Guy and Connie, the parents of the bride, were even gracious enough to stay with me in the church parking lot after Fallon's bridal portrait session-- I had accidentally shut my trunk with the car keys inside, and they waited ever so patiently for AAA to come to my rescue. They still wanted me back for the wedding after that ; )

I can hardly wait to get started on their wedding album!

Sandy & Josh

Sandy & Josh were married at Butler's Courtyard , an interesting, cozy, romatic property in League City with lots of sweet Victorian details.

This was the most colorful-silly-fun-crafty wedding I have ever had the pleasure to shoot; also one of the more emotional. Sandy made all of her own decorations, right down to the beautiful paper flowers that adorned the ceremony and reception areas-- her bridesmaids even carried paper floral bouquets. Her petticoat was dyed a bold purple, and she wore sashes in varying shades of blue.

I was in color HEAVEN with this wedding... right down to the bride's shoes. Sandy's take on "ruby slippers" was the most darling pair of blue-green glittery heels you ever saw (admittedly, the only pair of blue-green glittery heels I have ever seen).

Pre-ceremony, the bride and groom wanted to hold hands for a quick picture of anticipation, where they were touching one another but couldn't see one another. The moment turned very emotional-- which set the tone for the ceremony.

As the reception began, guests found brightly colored paper florals and Cadbury Creme Eggs adorning their tables in the beautifully chandeliered ballroom. There was dancing, dancing, more dancing... a quick somewhat impromptu lip-synch routine to "Blaze of Glory"... and at some point the bride tossed the sparkling slippers for her comfy pair of black Chuck Taylor's that were waiting in the wings.
