MODEL UPDATE: Please raise your paw if interested...

DOGS: In 2010, I will be unveiling a new "pet project"!

Thanks so much to everyone-- my pet-model cup runneth over! I have received plenty of offers, and currently do not have a need for additional pets to volunteer for the project.

Becca & Sergio & The Dogs in the park!

We shot Becca & Sergio's engagement portraits in the centrally-located and wildly popular Discovery Green park in Downtown Houston. They brought their dogs along for a fun and frisky shoot! Halfway through, Sergio's mom and brother kindly took over as dog-handlers and took the pups to play in the dog run area of the park.

Absolute lovebirds, it was no trouble getting these two to be sweet and kissy-kissy with one another. Lucky for me, it also wasn't too difficult to get them climbing and having fun on some of the sculptural and playground pieces throughout the park!

As summer evenings in Houston often are, it was hot and humid. Winding down, we wandered over to the ice cream trucks, and the two of them got some tasty treats.

Their wedding is next weekend, I can't wait!

Three precious sisters...

Courtney, Lindsey, and Chelsie are from Mississippi, but invited me out for a portrait session between a visit to their Grandma's home in West University and a San Antonio Sea World trip! We piled in the car and headed over to the majestic oak-lined path at North Boulevard on a sunny morning that turned into a super-sweaty hot mid-morning... but the girls were great sports about the heat (we tried to keep them in the shade as much as possible, and the fact that they were promised a trip to Target if they were good didn't hurt).

I absolutely LOVE that their mom, Audrey, found these sweet, simple dresses and chose to have them photographed barefoot-- it plays to the innocence of childhood and whimsical nature of the three girls. These images are absolutely timeless! Nothing about them will appear dated or out of style in 20, 40, 50 years, and it wouldn't be a far stretch to imagine they were taken 100 years ago (well, except for maybe the fact that they're in color).

After North Boulevard we shot a few in front of their grandma's house, and a few with their faithful and patient dalmatian, Muddy. They were getting hot and tired, but it made for some really funny shots of who they "really" are-- I like smiles, but sometimes when you get those few pics where the attention has shifted and boredom has set in... they're good as gold and will make you laugh for years to come.

Enjoy the sweet girls... and if you're ever in Hattiesburg, be sure to stop by the Keg & Barrel. It's their dad's place, and I hear the food and microbrew is fantastic!!!

Sammy... a furry little bundle of joy.

My super-friend Emily and I share a birthday-- this is actually how me met. In a college math class our freshman year, I dropped my driver's license on the ground and she picked it up, announcing that we had the same birthdate, so it was destined that we should be friends. That was in 1993... clearly she was right, we've remained best buds ever since!

Emily married her dear Daniel last year, so it was no surprise that the two of them were thinking about adding a baby to the family. Daniel surprised Emily on the Thursday before our birthday with a gift-- asking if she'd like it early, because "I think you might be able to use it now."

The gift was... a puppy (aren't we glad she decided to accept the gift early?). HOORAY FOR PUPPIES! I had the opportunity to stop by and meet her one night when an engagement session got rained out. Love, LOVE! I can't wait for Sammy to meet my Fred.

Jessica & Carlos

Jessica and Carlos were married in a lovely outdoor ceremony at the Courtyard on St. James.... it was a beautiful day with clear blue skies and a bright happy sun overhead!

Two years ago...

We gained our scruffiest little family member. He's been a faithful companion to us ever since, and brought many a laugh! Here's to our sweet, frisky, naturally-scotch-guarded, full-o-spunk little Freddy.

Aiden & His Family...

Aiden is three weeks old, and already hamming it up for the camera.

We shot his infant portraits in the home, utilizing only the natural light coming in through the windows. Mom and Dad were wonderful and glowing, so happy to be new parents... it was absolutely precious. They fed, soothed, and just loved on him; allowing me to capture some sweet candid family moments.

Before Aiden came along there were already two babies in the family-- two furry little sweethearts that welcomed me with plenty of sniffing and tail-wagging. I managed to snap a few shots of the doggies throughout our session and couldn't resist posting just one of Harley (who loves the camera, by the way) and her cute little flopped-back ear.
