Celina's Family

Celina was given a gift certificate for a portrait session, I was happy to meet her and photograph her family! We shot in Terry Hershey Park, off Memorial near Eldridge. It was a great sunny evening!

Three precious sisters...

Courtney, Lindsey, and Chelsie are from Mississippi, but invited me out for a portrait session between a visit to their Grandma's home in West University and a San Antonio Sea World trip! We piled in the car and headed over to the majestic oak-lined path at North Boulevard on a sunny morning that turned into a super-sweaty hot mid-morning... but the girls were great sports about the heat (we tried to keep them in the shade as much as possible, and the fact that they were promised a trip to Target if they were good didn't hurt).

I absolutely LOVE that their mom, Audrey, found these sweet, simple dresses and chose to have them photographed barefoot-- it plays to the innocence of childhood and whimsical nature of the three girls. These images are absolutely timeless! Nothing about them will appear dated or out of style in 20, 40, 50 years, and it wouldn't be a far stretch to imagine they were taken 100 years ago (well, except for maybe the fact that they're in color).

After North Boulevard we shot a few in front of their grandma's house, and a few with their faithful and patient dalmatian, Muddy. They were getting hot and tired, but it made for some really funny shots of who they "really" are-- I like smiles, but sometimes when you get those few pics where the attention has shifted and boredom has set in... they're good as gold and will make you laugh for years to come.

Katie's Senior Portraits

I don't shoot senior sessions very often but Katie, who lives in a far off land in deep East Texas, traveled all the way to Galveston for her senior portraits last week. Her little sister Ashley came along, so we couldn't resist snapping a couple of sister shots while we were on the beach.

If you notice a resemblance to me, it's no coincidence-- she's my cousin and we both look like our dads : )

Lindsey & Lauren.. and this time, Mom and Dad too!

If you follow the blog, you've seen Lindsey and Lauren before. These little monkeys are a barrel of fun, and we've shot at my studio and in their home. I first met Lindsey when she was 2 (oh how I remember the shy Lindsey.. who finally warmed up to me after I put Clifford in the DVD player and shared goldfish crackers with her), and this past year she became a big sister to the adorable Lauren.

Now that Lauren is up and around, her Mom and Dad opted for a nearby park for a change of pace... they were even able to sneak away for a quick picture of the two of them together-- sans children.

As usual, Lauren was silly and expressive, and Lindsay was sweet and cooperative. Lindsay did manage to get in some good running-through-the-grass while I was shooting Lauren's individual portraits, and I caught her in the act!

Lauren, 8 months, and her big sister Lindsey had me over to their home for some portraits not too long ago. It was "really" Lauren's 8-month portrait session, but we wanted to get a few of the girls together as well. Their mom does such a great job of dressing them in simple, not-too-fussy outfits that photograph beautifully.

Lauren is... expressive. She's one of those babies with a million different little looks, and she is mostly happy-happy-joy-joy when I'm around her. Lindsey is full of things to say, things to do, things to show you! Both girls have amazingly deep blue eyes and gorgeous rosy cheeks. Little cherubs, both of them.

I had to laugh as I was finishing up the session with Lauren and I saw Lindsey with her favorite well-loved stuffed bunny (whose name I believe is "Rabbie"), kind of pouting at not being the center of attention for the moment. I caught her, and got her giggling a little bit; and was able to catch a cute little candid moment of her with her head on the ottoman laughing.

I always look forward to working with this family, and look forward to watching the girls grow!
