Ann's Bridal Portraits

I absolutely love when I get an opportunity to shoot in a new place! Ann's fiance (now HUSBAND, as of this weekend, congrats guys!) Chad works at a posh bar off Kirby, Red Room, where they let us come in one afternoon to shoot her bridals. We kind of spilled over into the antique store downstairs, it was wonderful : )

She definitely has style, you can't miss it... and the personality to back it up. Enjoy!

Not your Momma's Maternity Portraits!

Donna is a colleague of mine, the creative mind behind Paper Dolls Photography. I was flattered when she asked if I'd be interested in shooting her maternity portraits!

She really went all out and had hair and makeup done-- snazzy wardrobe as well (heels! oh my, GREAT heels), but I suppose that's to be expected of someone who shoots boudoir on a regular basis... she knows what's fabulous. I think it's an incredibly meaningful gift to give your daughter... a little something for her to cherish years down the line if she should be blessed with a child of her own-- to know that Molly will perhaps see herself in her mother's eyes, and feel that same beauty and spirit within.

We shot in Donna's neighborhood park, on a wooded lot near her home, and in/around the house. The picturesque, gorgeous house. WOO HOO! Molly even has her own little Christmas tree at the foot of the stairs.

The resulting images are... well... not your mother's maternity portraits. Unless of course your mom climbed on playground equipment in espadrilles and a hot little lacy dress. I LOVE them. I'm even willing to attempt to block out the 5 seconds when I feared for my life and sanity as a giant wood spider landed on my arm (in the wooded lot) *shudder*. I'd do it all over again, even with the threat of giant friendly spiders.

Donna was beaming, confident, no-holds-barred adorable. Enjoy! Best wishes to you, Donna, through the remainder of the pregnancy... and thanks a million for the great bottle of wine : )

Does it get much cuter than this? Lindsay in her dance outfits...

Lindsay is a free-spirited and sassy little tap-and-ballet diva who recently had a recital... her Mommy wanted some beautiful pics of "Lulu" in her costumes. I met them at Granny's house, and the backyard was perfect for our shoot.

This little sweetie is my niece, and we were laughing ourselves silly during this session. After the backyard, we went inside and I shot some of her in the windowsill in my old bedroom (a place I used to sit frequently)... I am absolutely thrilled with the way those shots came out.

Without further ado, here she is... if you can make it through these pics without smiling even a little bit... well, you're much stronger than me!

Jennifer + Robbie's Wedding

Jennifer and Robbie chose to celebrate their wedding day at the gorgeous House Plantation, located off 290 just past Cypress. It was a warm and sunny evening filled with pretty pink and white florals, a glowing bride, happy groom... and two beautiful little girls waiting for Jennifer to officially become their stepmom.

The bride and her attendants, friends, and relatives were tucked away in the well-appointed Bride's room upstairs doing hair and makeup as A Day To Remember carefully arranged flowers and got the cake set up downstairs. The ceremony was to take place on House Plantation's storybook-wedding arbor-altar, which was decorated with lots of flowing greenery and a zillion little glass votives strung above from wires for a cozy romantic mood. The backdrop of blooming crepe myrtles was perfect!

It was very touching to hear Jennifer recite vows to Robbie's daughters. Being a stepmom myself, it brought a tear to my eye hearing another woman say those sweet words to the girls, opening her heart and promising to be the best parent she could be in their lives... not trying to replace their mother, but raise them respectfully as a wife to their father. You could tell that the girls were thrilled to be such an important part of the festivities, and Robbie looked on with adoration for his new wife.

After the ceremony the dinner and dancing began! The sun set, and the large trees on the property were lit with white lights-- which made for lots of stunning depth and allowed me to beautifully light the dance floor shots : )

You can tell that this was one great party, a fabulous celebration of love. Congratulations, Jennifer and Robbie!
