Bridals!
Ashley is getting married next weekend, and wanted to squeeze in a bridal portrait session before it got to be too late... so I made a little room for her during the Boudoir Weekend shoot, and we shot in the fancy-schmancy hotel!

Beach Blessing... Renewal of Vows
Heather & Dave reside just outside Chicago, and had a simple wedding ceremony there this past April. They took a delayed honeymoon to Galveston (before Ike, thankfully!) in July and had a lovely ceremony on the beach to bless their marriage. I was privileged to be their photographer of choice for the ceremony, which was presided over by John Bostock, the "Island Minister", whose soothing British accent and easygoing temprament fit perfectly with the calm surroundings. I cried a little... he had some very touching reflections on marriage and life, and related them to the sea.
We shot some fun, romantic couples portraits afterward-- so very smiley and kissy, these two, without my even having to ask. Heather and Dave each have a simple tattoo of their wedding date from this past April, and found out shortly before leaving for their trip that they're expecting a baby.
Congratulations, both of you-- and I hope that somehow, somewhere, our paths cross again.

Aiden & His Family...
Aiden is three weeks old, and already hamming it up for the camera.
We shot his infant portraits in the home, utilizing only the natural light coming in through the windows. Mom and Dad were wonderful and glowing, so happy to be new parents... it was absolutely precious. They fed, soothed, and just loved on him; allowing me to capture some sweet candid family moments.
Before Aiden came along there were already two babies in the family-- two furry little sweethearts that welcomed me with plenty of sniffing and tail-wagging. I managed to snap a few shots of the doggies throughout our session and couldn't resist posting just one of Harley (who loves the camera, by the way) and her cute little flopped-back ear.

In honor of Boudoir Weekend...
Here are some images of some of the gorgeous ladies I've had the privilege of photographing.
Boudoir photography has an allure all its own, mostly because my clients always have something in mind for their husband/fiance-- and the thrill of knowing how surprised he'll be when the photos are revealed makes our photo session that much more fun!
It's also an opportunity to see women come out of their shells and show them how incredibly beautiful they are : ) What's better than that?
I focus on what you love about yourself, and we don't mess with the problem areas that bug the heck out of you. I use light and shadows to dramatically define those curves that make you who you are, the woman he loves. The end result is a collection of gorgeous, sexy, private pictures that make both of you feel like you're on top of the world!
My philosophy is that "sexy" isn't about how much skin you're showing, it's about what your eyes are saying, what your body language is portraying. Whether you're wearing lingerie, his work shirt, a college t-shirt and boyshorts, nothing but your wedding ring, or wrapped in a sheet and laughing hysterically, your eyes and body communicate for you... and he understands. Modesty levels are completely dictated by my clients; they show as little or as much as they're comfortable with.
The following images are suggestive, not necessarily appropriate for viewing by all audiences or at work where others can see your monitor... Some faces have been concealed to respect the privacy of my clients.

Boudoir & Glamour Portrait Weekend 2008
Friday through Sunday, October 3-5, I will be setting up shop in a fantastic suite at a fabulous Houston hotel and running a weekend marathon of Boudoir and Glamour portrait sessions.
Soooo... if you've been wondering what to surprise that special someone with this Christmas or Valentine's Day, I'm willing to bet this would do the trick! Here's the lowdown:
Upon arrival at the hotel, a female personal assistant will
Greet you and assist with arrival, preparation, dressing, and wardrobe management.
Your private-suite photography session with Kasey Marsh will begin, and last about 1 ½ hours. You may have as many wardrobe changes as you’d like within your session!
(we recommend 2-5 different looks… don’t forget shoes and jewelry!)
We’ll have beverages, fruits, and small snacks on hand to help keep you fresh.
Your personal assistant will escort you to the lobby at the end of your session,
assuring that your Valet Parking has been taken care of.
In 2-4 weeks, your discreet password-protected online gallery will be available for
viewing your final, edited pictures (minimum of 30 images).
A “Little Black Book” filled with twenty of your photos, engraved with your personal message on the front, will be sent to the address of your choice.
If you have other plans for the images, digital files may be purchased in bulk or individually. We can also arrange for larger albums, coffee table books, and other specialty items!
We’re happy to answer any questions, and are comfortable working with
women of all shapes, sizes, and modesty levels. Maternity clients welcome!
$450 per session

We're Safe... but still Evacuated.
If you're reading this, you've got some sort of electricity... hopefully you're working off grid power and not a generator (if you're in the Houston area). Hurricane Ike certainly did not spare us-- I've spent the past couple of days at my mom's house (our evacuation destination) cleaning up and hauling debris from the yard out to the curb for pickup, and evenings in the living room huddled around the tv and one lamp that were running off the generator. Thankfully, our dear friends Marc and Stacy were able to help us out with gasoline from their ranch's reserve tank; otherwise we aren't sure where we'd have gotten it.
Cell phones have been sporadically available for making/receiving calls, and even text messaging has been unpredictable. If you've tried to contact us and haven't been able to get through, we apologize. Things seem to be getting better each day.
I'm happy to report that no serious damage occurred to our home or to the home we've evacuated to-- most everyone we know is safe and that's the best news we could hope for. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to those who are still missing family members, or who have suffered great loss as a result of this storm... even to those who are still without electricity and/or water or are unable to return home. Power was restored to my mom's home late this afternoon. I have never jumped for joy at the sight of a ceiling fan beginning to turn, but I definitely did today!
Our home/my office in the Clear Lake area is still without power, and nearby municipalities are still under "boil water before consumption" warnings, so I'll continue to work out of the Cypress area for the time being. For those of you waiting on edited photos, I'm working as much as I can and will contact you by phone when I've got something for you. Now that we are back on grid power and not relying on the generator, I'm more able to get things done. I am unsure as to how frequently I'll have internet access (and/or be able to check e-mail).
Before I go, I'd like to also send out some thank-you's...
Our local governments have really done a stellar job of keeping us all informed (I suppose some praise should also go out to our local media and their outstanding coverage before, during, and after the storm). I can't even begin to imagine how difficult a job this must be-- coordinating efforts of all sorts of government agencies to assist the millions of people in need.
At the end of the day whether you are a mayor, a rescue worker, a police officer, a volunteer at a "POD", or simply the person who made it a priority to get yourself into work this morning at McDonald's so that others could have a little something hot and fresh to start our day with, thank you.
Thank you to Danny Goodale for being a kind neighbor and bringing your resources to our front yard, lighting a fire under all of us to stop wondering what on earth we were going to do, and start cleaning up the mess. Thank you to Connor and Andrew for putting down the XBOX controllers, stepping up to the plate, circling their wagons (literally-- kids' wagons really make great brush-haulers in a pinch), and moving thousands of tree branches and logs to the curb. Thank you, Jack, for all of the millions of little things (and dozens of big things) you have done to make this week so much more bearable... I wish everyone could have a husband like you.

We will be closed until Hurrican Ike has made its way to land and decided where to go. Our home is in a mandatory evacuation zone, so we'll return as soon as it's deemed safe to do so.

Jack's Back! 9-month portraits.
It seems like just yesterday I was meeting little baby Jack for the first time, when in fact it's been 6 months! He is growing like a weed and getting more and more expressive with those big beautiful eyes of his.
I just love this age... they're so interactive and curious and can be such happy little people, but they can't quite run away from you yet, which makes for a much easier portrait session, hahah! They can crawl away, though-- don't think he didn't try! They're also so sweet and squishy for Mommy-hugs. In Jack's case, he also likes to put his chubby little hands all over Mommy's face and feel her kisses.
I couldn't give you Jack without including at least one so-sad face, because when you're this darling, even your sad faces are cute cute cute!

A Brand New Man... Landon, 5 weeks
There's just nothing in the world like a newborn baby... so much promise in one tiny little package.
Suzanne and Travis ooh'd and awww'd over that little guy just like you'd imagine, and I was able to get not only some lovely portraits of them, but also some "lifestyle" type candids of Mommy & Daddy just being who they are, caring for their newborn son, doing what you have to do.
This session was shot in their home, using only window light. I like this technique for babies because everyone's most comfortable in their own surroundings, nobody had to pack up anything and drive to me, and everyone's literally "at home". Looking back at these pictures someday, they'll be able to say "That was your first home".
