The Hughes Family

The Hughes family... oh, we go way back. Way back to when I convinced Marc (Daddy) to pick up the phone and call my intern officemate, Stacy (Mommy) and ask her out.

Here we are, years later, and they're the parents of some very sweet and adorable tripelets: Annalee, Celia, and Wyatt.

We met at a little gazebo area near Memorial Park for their family portraits, just in time to get some Christmas cards out!

Family Portraits!

Jacob & Sarah's family was my first in the new studio. We had a nasty rainy day so shooting outdoors was not ideal, and for the first time, I had an alternative! It was great to have a place for everyone to change clothes : )

We did a few family portraits, until we were sure we had a few with everyone looking happy, then it was on to the kiddos! After a quick clothing change (Sarah into her beautiful red Christmas dress, Jacob into a dashing sweater) the fun began. I was able to capture some really sweet moments as the kids played with one another, hugged, and showed off their little personalities.

Jacob likes to "show you his muscles" by flexing his arms and making this hilarious squinty-smiley face... I think I've included one of those shots in the blog. One of my favorites is the two kids hugging one another, but a close second is the one where Sarah looks like she's ready to attack Jacob-- she was just "shownig her muscles" but his little clueless face really makes it funny.

This family was an absolute joy to work with : )

Taking some time off...

Well, weddings have wound down for the year (though I do have one more Christmas-time wedding) so I'm taking the week off for a little private time. Enjoy your Christmas shopping and year-end-wrapping-up, everyone!

Boudoir & Glamour Portrait Weekend 2008

Friday through Sunday, October 3-5, I will be setting up shop in a fantastic suite at a fabulous Houston hotel and running a weekend marathon of Boudoir and Glamour portrait sessions.

Soooo... if you've been wondering what to surprise that special someone with this Christmas or Valentine's Day, I'm willing to bet this would do the trick! Here's the lowdown:


Upon arrival at the hotel, a female personal assistant will
Greet you and assist with arrival, preparation, dressing, and wardrobe management.

Your private-suite photography session with Kasey Marsh will begin, and last about 1 ½ hours. You may have as many wardrobe changes as you’d like within your session!
(we recommend 2-5 different looks… don’t forget shoes and jewelry!)

We’ll have beverages, fruits, and small snacks on hand to help keep you fresh.

Your personal assistant will escort you to the lobby at the end of your session,
assuring that your Valet Parking has been taken care of.

In 2-4 weeks, your discreet password-protected online gallery will be available for
viewing your final, edited pictures (minimum of 30 images).

A “Little Black Book” filled with twenty of your photos, engraved with your personal message on the front, will be sent to the address of your choice.

If you have other plans for the images, digital files may be purchased in bulk or individually. We can also arrange for larger albums, coffee table books, and other specialty items!

We’re happy to answer any questions, and are comfortable working with
women of all shapes, sizes, and modesty levels. Maternity clients welcome!

$450 per session

So I'm back from vacation...

Well, my husband, the kids and I took off for Walt Disney World on Christmas morning. The trip had been postponed several times, but finally we made our way there and had an absolutely wonderful time. After allll that anticipation, Disney lived up to our expectations!

I wanted it to truly be a vacation and be an enjoyable time for all of us, so I didn't drag any of my usual cameras and multiple lenses and tripods along to the theme parks... Besides, I'd never enjoy a roller coaster wondering if my camera and lens were safe and sound in the "cargo bag" of my coaster (have you SEEN those things? no way!). Everything here was shot hand-held with my trusty Sony Cybershot that my husband gave me as a Christmas gift four years ago-- and it still performs well after all the abuse and bottom-of-the-purse life it's lived.

What you'll see below are several of my favorite memories from Disney World's Magic Kingdom (Cinderella's Castle decked out in holiday lights!), Disney MGM Studios park (the crazy Main Street USA Christmas light spectacular), and our hotel staff-- who lovingly created a friend for my daughter's "Bunny", and tucked my son's Stitch and Stitch Jr. in with "Blankey" each time they made the beds (We can't say enough wonderful things about Disney's Contemporary Resort and the staff there, especially Kristin from Jupiter, FL who calmly and happily helped us out in a particularly difficult situation when we encountered a computer glitch with our reservations). That green thing is a Sea Monster made entirely of Lego's (Downtown Disney)! Last but not least... one picture from the Rocket Garden at Kennedy Space Center.

Some December Wedding Favorites

Here are a few of my favorite wedding images from last December... the ones that stick out in my mind the most. Erin and John were married in Galveston and had a reception at Garten Verein, where outside there were some streetlamps shining on an arbor of vines that were leafless for the winter. Who'd have thought dead vines could be so pretty?

Leslie and Miguel's wedding sticks out in my mind because they'd previously planned a destination wedding, but moved it up at the last minute simply because they didn't want to wait to get married. Their last dance before the exit was "All I Want for Christmas is You".

Ashley and Jason were just laid back, go-with-the-flow people. The picture of her cracking up during the cermeony is par for the course of their wedding day.

Elizabeth and Andrew were a couple of cute young Aggies, and I lucked out at their church with a great blacony from which to capture the Cinderella-dancing image.
